By Wendy Spall.
The bells are jingling
The carollers are singing
And the lists are being made
The tree is trimmed
And the baubles are glistening
In the fairy lights parade
All children are restless
They know who is coming
The man in the red suit and sleigh
But this is Australia
A land down under
Where snowmen can’t be made
So toss a prawn on the barbie
Put your sunscreen on
And in your togs parade
For a southern Christmas
With sun, heat and flies
For us it’s the only way.
